The Master of Professional Studies in Geospatial Information Sciences Program (MPS degree (31 Credits) is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date education on geospatial technology, theory and applications. The courses cover spatial analysis, statistics, programming, databases, modeling, remote sensing, Internet GIS, Mobile GIS, and Open Source GIS.

The Graduate School requires all admitted graduate students to have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in another country. A GPA of 3.0 is normally required for admission into this program. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0 may be admitted on a provisional basis.

Students choosing the Master of Professional Studies degree track need to complete 31 credit hours of approved coursework with an average grade of B.


Facilities and Special Resources

All registered students have full access to the facilities and resources (e.g. libraries, gym, computer labs) on campus just like any other traditional student. Students also have full access to the resources (e.g. computer labs, software applications, seminars, etc) in the Geographical Sciences Department as regular graduate students. The program has a dedicated lab for its students as well where they can study.
